Just 45 minutes from the city, this underrated stretch of coastline is perfect for a scenic stroll, keeping energetic kids busy and giving four-legged friends a proper runaround.
Just north of Ardrossan’s more popular beach lies Seamill Beach, a peaceful stretch along the West Kilbride coast that offers a quiet alternative for those looking to escape the crowds, Glasgow Live reports.
With both the Waterside and Seamill Hydro hotels nearby, you'll have plenty of dining options to enjoy.

The beach features wide sandy stretches perfect for a walk, and when the tide is out, rock pools provide endless entertainment for the kids (don’t forget to pack your buckets and nets). It’s an ideal spot for making lasting memories.
Seamill really comes into its own on sunny days when the water turns a stunning aqua blue, and the views stretch all the way to the Isle of Arran and down the Firth of Clyde.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Ailsa Craig, the distinctive pudding-shaped island that’s a well-known landmark of Ayrshire.
